What I Considered This Week
This week I am trying to focus on a few simple updates for our bathroom. It was also VERY cold in Minnesota this week, so I wanted to be cozy and warm, hence slippers and soup.
- I LOVE this Revolution Dark Floral print by Ashley Woodson Bailey. Her beautiful floral work is so moody and unique. I love anything with florals, and Ashley puts a new spin on how we see flowers.
2. Is it just me or it is really hard to find jeans that go all the way to the ankles now? It seems like all the jeans now days are above the ankle, which is fine SOMETIMES. These Levi’s Ribcage jeans have the flattering high waist that will elongate the leg, but will still cover my ankles.
3. I LOVE Valentine candy! Maybe because it is usually pink…I don’t really know. A friend of mine turned me onto Nerds Rope a few years ago. Typically, I go for chocolate, so I did not have high expectations, but I was instantly hooked. This candy has the fruity, sweet and sour combination that is addicting. It is not really the most healthy thing to eat (LOL), so I only allow myself this special treat on holidays and road trips.
4. I have been focusing on a few simple updates for our bathroom. I wanted to find an attractive tray that had some weight to it, but would fit on the back of the toilet. Surprisingly, it is difficult to find such a tray! I finally found this handcrafted black marble tray at Pottery Barn. It also has a few other pieces in the collection to match.
5. With quarantine, most of us seem to be living in slippers. I purchased a new pair last March and they did not even last till October before they started falling apart. I decided I needed a new pair that had a bit more heft to the sole. I also wanted something with a little more support in the arch since slippers are what I have been wearing about 90% of the time. These slippers have a rubber sole with a grip and arch support. The sole is also textured for added grip. These slippers are cute but still comfy and functional.
6. Cold winters typically means soups for me. This African Peanut Soup is delicious with some crusty bread. This oddly wonderful combination of ingredients make a surprisingly different and delicious soup that everyone will enjoy. Added bonus that this is also a Vegan soup. My family and I love peanut butter, so I usually double the amount of peanut butter in the recipe and throw in some spinach or broccoli as well. YUM!
